The Dalston Jazz Bar is situated on the corner of Gillett Square and Bradbury St in the heart of throbbing Dalston E8.
Founded by catering entrepreneur Robert Beckford in the late 90’s, the bar is now established as one of the leading jazz dinner/diner’s in the capital. Disgracefully overlooked by the jazz music press, DJB has hosted musical luminaries such as the iconic jazz guitarists Cameron Pierre and Alan Weekes.
The venue serves up top class jazz on Friday and Saturday nights with such an atmospheric speakeasy vibe, that one could easily imagine being in New Orleans or Havana. The exquisite and often exotic food is cooked by the chef in an open plan kitchen and is well prepared and well priced.
When the jazz loving diners are gone, at 10pm the venue transforms itself into a night club for the young, trendy Dalston crowd with Robert Beckford himself as DJ.
This jewel of a venue is a must visit for any jazz enthusiast or even any music lover.
‘This venue and it’s environs is the newest thing London has to New Orleans. Just great music in an inspired atmosphere - love it!’
